Manchester City can confirm that Stuart Taylor has not had his contract renewed and has left the club.

The goalkeeper arrived at City last summer and understudied Shay Given for most of the season, making one first team appearance against Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup last January.

Unluckily for Stuart, a knee injury towards the end of the season prevented him from replacing Shay Given in the side after the Irishman dislocated a shoulder against Arsenal.
