Just wanted to say...
Even thou I never post and there isn’t much discussion I read every day and appreciate the work.
Excited about this.
Thanks for reading. I just joined B&B as an editor yesterday; so hopefully I can add to the good work Danny does.
Feel free to stick around, hopefully we’ll get some good discussion going.

Supposedly you can listen to this match for free on mcfc.co.uk, but I haven’t tried. I’m sure there’s a stream of the game to be found, too, though I’m hesitant to post it.
Um.
I haven’t been able to find one in English, and I’ll leave it at that.

On the flipside
it’s not like the game is available via normal broadcast here.

Well, its not available on English TV as far as I know, so your only luck may be in Romanian. Better than nothing, though, right?
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 7:53 PM BST up reply actions
Well, that was what I was able to find.
Aside: has the match actually started yet?

Okay, we're good.
Missed on the timing a bit.

I'll be paying attention to Napoli but good to see y'all have a thead up

Yep! Thanks for dropping by. I figured this would be a good way to start promoting a bit more community ’round these parts.

Someone please tell me we won’t play three defensive mids every game this year.
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:01 PM BST reply actions
Probably not against Blackpool.

Ha. I don’t know, with the way they scored against Wigan…
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:04 PM BST up reply actions
I surely hope not, but I imagine that Mancini is playing it safe because a) we’re on the road and b) the side has not fully gelled yet. When they get some matches under their respective belts, you may see the gloves start to come off a bit.
On the bright side, though, looks like two strikers today instead of one.
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:03 PM BST up reply actions
I have to think that Barry is completely surplus to this side on the pitch. Someone with creativity or who can actually provide something going forward (see: AJ) would make more sense.
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:10 PM BST up reply actions
I agree with you. I’m still not sure why Johnson is not in the side instead of Barry. For Liverpool on Monday I’d like to see the following:
Johnson/de Jong/Toure/Silva
Milner
Tevez
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:12 PM BST up reply actions
Think both playing free roles, or will Silva mostly stick to the left?
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:05 PM BST up reply actions
Hmm, I hadn’t thought of that. Could be, but I’d think Silva should be out wide.

Anyone have visual feed? Please tell me how Lescott especially looks.
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:09 PM BST reply actions
I have visual, but I'm only half-watching.
I’ll see what I can pick up.

Good man.
I didn’t realise this game started at 8, that might explain why there was athletics on this feed when I checked earlier. Whoops.
Nice
Keep us updated for those of us at work. Interested to see what City is doing up top and what Balotelli looks like if he comes on.
I'm wondering if Mancini is just playing for a draw.
Early and all, but there’s not a lot to the play so far.

I’d be seriously dissappointed if he didn’t at least go for an away goal. I’m not comfortable going back to Manchester with the aggregate level.
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:20 PM BST up reply actions
Is that Kolo down? Struck in the head by a shot.
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:19 PM BST reply actions
Yeah, it caught him right in the face….
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:21 PM BST up reply actions
Not particularly. Silva had a shot on goal very early in the match that was saved, I think.
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:30 PM BST up reply actions
Tevez narrowly wide from a free kick.
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:30 PM BST reply actions
Saved by the keeper, was headed wide.
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:31 PM BST up reply actions
Good save by Hart, looked like his view was blocked, good throw up the pitch to Tevez. Shot took a deflection. Maybe Kompany’s arm?
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:36 PM BST reply actions
I think it was. City looking better on the attack now.
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:36 PM BST up reply actions
Adebayor chests one down in the box, no one to pick it up.
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:38 PM BST reply actions
Oh a horrendously late challenge upended him
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:41 PM BST up reply actions
Not sure; but the Timi player has been booked.
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:42 PM BST up reply actions
Tevez back on, Lescott looking feisty
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:44 PM BST reply actions
So what's the general City fan opinion on this away kit?
I couldn’t believe it when I saw it last year and I’m just as surprised to see it brought back.
This is the third kit, actually…and I don’t mind it. What I dislike is the actual away kit, which is very dark blue/black. Nasty.
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:46 PM BST up reply actions
Oooh Tevez feeds Lescott, runs into the box and a decent low cross fails to get a touch.
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:46 PM BST reply actions
Barry puts a cross from a decent spot straight out of play
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:46 PM BST reply actions
With the quality of de Jong and Toure, I’m expecting Barry to sit against Liverpool in favor of Milner.
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:48 PM BST up reply actions
I hope he gets real used to the bench
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 8:51 PM BST up reply actions
first half thoughts
Some of the same problems as against Spurs – Adebayor cannot get the ball in any good place because Silva and Tevez aren’t finding their way wide. I think we miss the attacking of Kolarov, too.
So, don’t be surprised to see either Balotelli, Johnson, or Wright-Phillips to shake things up in the 2nd.
by Chris Burton on Aug 19, 2010 8:50 PM BST up reply actions
It looks like a late night public access show

No idea what just happened but ball was in the back of the net
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 9:05 PM BST reply actions
Silva was about 4 yards off

pretty pass by Yaya into the box and Zabeleta muffles it
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 9:06 PM BST reply actions
Adebayor very close to linking up with Silva

Silva hits side netting, think it was a cross

CSKA Sofia vs. The New Saints might not be the most interesting matchup tonight
But CSKA scoring two goals in as many minutes is probably worth a mention.
ref yelling at balotelli for some reason
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 9:17 PM BST reply actions
The apparent shoulder he dropped into the Timisoara defender would be my guess.

balotelli wins a corner, takes quickly, cross in, adebayor heads across, tevez gets a boot on a bicycle, falls to balotelli who hits side netting. no angle

Ouch.
Also, turn the post mics down a bit, Romanian TV.

just a simple tap in really, adebayor back through the box
by Gradyforpresident on Aug 19, 2010 9:30 PM BST reply actions
Sometimes, a simple tap-in is all it takes! :)

wow
@tldorc Jô’s first competitive appearance since the infamous 3-0 FA Cup defeat to Forest January ’09, when he played 20 mins.
It's coming. The guys are still thinking instead of reacting you can see
Instead of thinking before their first touch when they start reacting the sky is the limit.
I’m hearing that it was ‘just a knock’, and Super Mario should be fine.

Wow, action on the SBNation Bitter and Blue thread. Haven’t seen that before. That was well done, Chris.
Hope this trend continues, next time I won’t be traveling mid-game and the game-day threads are the location of the most interaction in the other SBNation threads I frequent.
Rooting for Jose Casilla to take his K- and GB-inducing skills to the majors and join his brother.
Thanks, man. Do join us for the Liverpool match on Monday, I’ll have a detailed preview up and the game thread will drop 1/2 hours before kickoff! I’ve just joined Bitter and Blue as an editor, so let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see here, too.
