It wasn't always pretty, and there was a great deal of consternation throughout, but Manchester City finally put away Wolves at City of Manchester Stadium to go top of the Premier League table by a 4-3 scoreline. Carlos Tevez scored twice, while the brothers Toure netted the other markers.
There were defensive breakdowns aplenty, but in the end, City's offensive firepower proved too much for an ultimately overmatched Wolverhampton side. Edin Dzeko looked solid in his debut.
Questions have abounded throughout Roberto Mancini's tenure, but for one day, they are dispelled - Manchester City are the best team in the Premier League, at least until tomorrow, when Spurs take on Manchester United.
As they say, a win is a win. And that's what City got themselves.
