Oh and great and analytical Danny...
how’s that for buttering you up for a question? :)
What’s the deal with Adebayor and Mancini? Why they no get along? Is it anything specific? I know Roberto took Adam Johnson to task for being a less than complete player or something like that. Does he have the same problem with Adebayor? Just asking and as always, this is a wonderful place for a fan of Man City.
Hi, I believe there are perceived issues with attitude in training from Adebayor, but in the main I think it is simply a case of Mancini not believing Adebayor is good or consistent enough a player.
He hasn’t had a huge number of opportunities under Mancini but hasn’t shone when he has had them. Certainly he is a streaky player: when he is hot is almost unplayable but when he is cold he is very ineffectual.
Good comparison with Johnson, but what Johnson does offer is that something different to the rest of the squad and maybe Mancini believes that he is young enough to learn and be moulded into the type of player he wants – maybe that isn’t the case with Adebayor?
I guess there is also some debate over whether he is a natural fit for the style of play Mancini is deploying this season?
