Citizen "Kun"

With The Guardian officially reporting Sergio Aguero's arrival at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, there can be little doubt that City have secured the services of a tremendously talented player.  What does all of this mean?  How will it affect the club?  And most importantly, are we jumping the gun and asking these questions prematurely?  Of course we are, but that won't prevent us from bombarding you with statistics and possible scenarios.

On his official Twitter account, Kun wrote, "Just landed at Manchester to put the finishing touches to the deal with City. All going very well! I'll tell you more in a little while."

All is indeed going well for City, netting yet another quality player in the blockbuster move of the transfer season so far.  In terms of sheer talent, Aguero is the cream of the crop but how does all of this translate in raw numbers?

His 2010/2011 numbers in the La Liga were certainly impressive:

Aguero played a total of 31 games, netting a total of 20 goals, and assisting twice.  The prior season, he played just 24 games but scored on 12 occasions and assisted four times.  In a highly competitive and self proclaimed "best league in the world," such as the La Liga, such numbers are indeed impressive.

How will this translate to the English style of play and the Premier League?

One of Aguero's strengths is his bull-like tenacity which ensures the Argentine can create chances out of nothing and slash through opposition defenders inside the box.  Remind you of someone?  If Carlos Tevez does indeed leave, Aguero seems to be the perfect successor.

With Edin Dzeko as a classic 9 target-man up front, provided he receives service from the wings or from playmaking, and Mario Balotelli as a hybrid of the two, Sergio Aguero can ensure that City continue to have a well-rounded attack force with the possibility of Carlos Tevez leaving.
