New Citizen

I grew up an FC Barcelona fan but have recently grown a liking to City. In fact I really really like City now, I know it will take a few more years before I fall in love with the club the way most of you do but I'm really interested in learning more about the Club. So could some one help me learn more about City? What are the most important things i need to remember? I personally am not one to band wagon, there's a lot of hate for City because of the new money, but the reason I really wanna support city is because it's the first Asian owned club that actually has a shot at dethroning the usual Goliaths. Also if there's any fans that deserve a winning team it's city fans because of there loyalty and that's what I wanna latch myself to mostly. I love Barca but, La Liga has been dull the past couple of years hence the interest in the Prem. Thanks for your time guys, appreciate you reading this little post of mine.

Thanks for posting on here.

A quick synopsis would be…

A.) A very young and top of the line defense. Kompany ©, Clichy, Kolarov, Micah Richards, Zaboleta, and Lescott are all above average.

B.) Extremely talented goalie with Joe Hart.

C.) Great play maker in David Silva.

D.) Very strong attack.

E.) Not the greatest winning mentality and some lack of team chemistry.

F.) Mancini plays a very Italian style of football with a great defensive mid (Nigel De Jong)

There are more things that you will pick up about City from sticking around the forum as well as watching their games. This I feel is their year and if not this one they will always be in the race next year. The team is very young and full of promise.

Thanks for that, I will be watching a lot of City games for sure… Yeah I do feel that we need more of a killer instinct to finish games, case and point the Shield but I do feel optimistic about out young players specially Kompany. Hopefully as the season progresses the nucleus will grow in to their roles more play the last 20 mins with more grit.

Team Mentality

The biggest thing City lacks is the expectation of winning. They’ve been a sad sack outfit for so long that the team and fanbase really has to overcome the mentality that everything that can go wrong will. You see see it in teams like United, where they expect to win every time they go out on the pitch and play to the final whistle. United has beaten us twice in the last year by playing to the final whistle and beating us in injury time. City needs to have that mentality every game, that they can and will win against any competition.

I think the club has the talent to be world beaters now, they just need to build that killer instinct that separates the title contenders and Champions League clubs from the rest of the league.
