worst red I've ever seen..
Kompany’s tackle wasn’t even a foul let alone a red. How does Chris Foy still have a job? He sent off Drogba and another Chelsea player for nothing in that horribly refereed blues/QPR game. He literally must have had money on QPR and ManU today. Unbelievable.

Yeah
and it’s going to get ugly very quick.
Chris Foy is one of the worst refs in football.
We Spurs fans should know. He’s pretty much the reason we lost away to Stoke.
Let me be the first non-Citizen to say that I’m sorry you guys got Foy’d.

wtf are we going to do without k.toure and kompany? It’ll be a 3 game ban and the FA will surely not overturn it
yeah i agree they should
but I have already seen people arguing that it is technically correct and unfortunately the FA will tow the line. God I hope I am wrong.
from bbc, Blackburn striker and BBC pundit Jason Roberts on Twitter: “We ALL know the rules NO two-footed challenges allowed..even with no connection. By the way…it does not matter if it was a good tackle five years ago!”
Two footed tackle
There’s a common misconception that this is a straight red. It isn’t and refs nee to start interpreting the rules properly instead of being so keen to get a card out.
This comes under ‘serious foul play’ (includes any use of excessive force or brutality against an opponent when challenging for the ball. Examples include a dangerous slide tackle from behind, or an “over the top tackle” in which a player raises his foot so the cleats could hit a player, or a two footed tackle that takes down the opponent. FIFA has broadened this definition by saying that "Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force and endangering the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play. For current rules visit fifa.com, Laws of the Game. The above quote is from Questions and Answers, Additional Instructions for Referees). The rules now include “Decision 4”, which says: “A tackle, which endangers the safety of an opponent, must be sanctioned as serious foul play”.
Kompany’s challenge was neither excessive or dangerous.

Hypothetically if he is banned...
who would you have in central defence? Savic or Richards. Lescott would have to be first pick.
Could it happen?

Kolorov pulls one back
it can't happen can it?
if only scholes can get himself sent off as well and it would be the perfect comeback.
exactly
that was as exciting of an ending as I’ve seen in a long time. Gotta commend City for not just giving up. Fought back
"This one means 'Kill Kirk!!!!'... And also, 'hallelujah'... Depending on the context."
Good Showing
Love the spirit of the team today. A game like this shows that the spending of the last few years wasn’t wanton and had certain types of players in mind. Played for the team and fans; mercenaries indeed
I had to laugh as Shrek was the first (only?) person to run over to the ref and shake his hand
The outlook wasn’t good from the start IMO as Mario, Edin, Hart and the Toure’s were all unavailable
"This one means 'Kill Kirk!!!!'... And also, 'hallelujah'... Depending on the context."
Ferguson- "If Nani gets caught there, he's got a problem"
Well guess what Fergie. IT WAS A CLEAN TACKLE! Nani didn’t even complain!
That surely must be the first time in the history of this sport that a player has received a red when the player he supposedly ‘aggrieved’ didn’t even complain.
Big players make big plays
yep
if you look at the replay, Rooney was the only one who called foul on it
"This one means 'Kill Kirk!!!!'... And also, 'hallelujah'... Depending on the context."
reminds me..
Reminds me of the Pepe tackle on Dani Alves last year in champs league that eventually sent Madrid packing.. Video replay showed that pepe did not even make physical contact with alves but he was sent off.. Eerily similar given the fact it happened both times in the biggest rivalry in each respective league an in a tournament.. Foy is a joke..

somewhat reminiscent
Props to Nani, though, for not doing a Dani Alves-like acting job.
man city v man u fa cup
gutted to lose, but proud to see city fight back secound half,i still think we will go on to win the leauge, hope we take utd apart next meeting,as long the ref isnt fergies freind lol
Proud of my boys today.
At home against an inferior team (yeah I said it) “moral victories” are for the birds. The heart that Milner, Micah, Kun, Les, Zab showed today was outstanding.
Too much watching during key moments from NDJ, Kolorov shouldn’t play against top clubs and wingers. He’s just not physically capable keeping up. Neither am I.

We are better.
The first ten minutes showed that city has a better team.
That bad call that was a joke straight red? WOW!
We played them 2-2 while we only had ten men.
Now imagine if we had twelve men and YAya and Kole 1-6 again.
would have been a huge momentum swing
Either way we showed who’s the better team now it’s time to focus on the title.
