This is a very rough schedule. The odd game might be a day out. This naturally needs filling out with injuries, suspensions, squad rotation selections etc, but that would take an age. As it it, this is 45 mins work.
I've split the schedule into 4 quarters of 9 games, 10 games, 10 games and 9 games which reflects the busy nature of the mid season schedule with CL, FA cup and Lge cup taking place.
| Games played | ||||
| Aug 14th-Oct 23rd | Oct 24th-Dec 31st | Jan 1st-Mar 18th | Mar 19th-May 13th | |
| 70 days | 69 | 77 | 55 | |
| max games | 15 | 15 | 18 | 17 |
| Man City | 13 | 14 | 17 | 10 |
| Man Utd | 13 | 14 | 16 | 10 |
| Arsenal | 13(+2CLQ) | 15 | 15 | 10 |
| Spurs | 13(+2ELQ) | 13 | 14 | 11 |
| Newcastle | 12 | 10 | 12 | 10 |
| Chelsea | 13 | 15 | 17 | 16 |

The easiest stretch of games is the final quarter, when injuries and tired legs have accumulated. The 3rd quarter is the toughest run with a game every 5.07 days, that is using the average clubs' schedule.

| Aug 14th-Oct 23rd | Oct 24th-Dec 31st | Jan 1st-Mar 18th | Mar 19th-May 13th | |
| 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | |
| Man City | 2.77 | 2.0 | 2.4 | 2.22 |
| Man Utd | 2.22 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.11 |
| Arsenal | 1.44 | 2.3 | 1.9 | 1.66 |
| Spurs | 2.11 | 2.3 | 1.2 | 1.66 |
| Newcastle | 2.11 | 1.1 | 1.7 | 2.00 |
| Chelsea | 2.11 | 1.66 | 1.5 | 1.55 |
United's mid season of 2nd and 3rd quarters show identical PL ppg. That aside every team achieved more ppg in the the first half of the schedule, when games were less frequent, rotation less of an issue and injuries were, I assume, less of a factor. Better to play the big six in the second half of the season.
| First Half | Second half | |
| Man City | 2.38 | 2.31 |
| Man Utd | 2.36 | 2.31 |
| Arsenal | 1.87 | 1.78 |
| Spurs | 2.20 | 1.43 |
| Newcastle | 1.605 | 1.85 |
| Chelsea | 1.885 | 1.525 |
The drop off in ppg is minimal bar Spurs who had a 42/27 points split, and Chelsea who had a 35/29 points split. Apart from those two teams the points split is minimal.
Any thoughts? This needs a lot fleshing out, but these are the bare bones.
