It was an unhappy evening for City duo Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy as their Euro 2012 participation ended with France's tame exit to Spain, following which it was reported that Nasri was involved in an argument with a journalist in the mixed zone following France's defeat.

Nasri began the game on the bench as Laurent Blanc changed up his starting line-up to counter the threat of Spain, but with his side trailing Nasri was thrown into the fray will just under thirty minutes remaining. Clichy, meanwhile, played the ninety minutes - plenty of which was in direct contact with David Silva - but there were questions over his involvement on Spain's opening goal.

Silva played little over an hour of the game before he was withdrawn in favour of Pedro, but will surely be involved when Spain take on Portugal in the semi-final this coming week.
