This morning a piece of notable gossip leaked out from the reliable source that is Rafael Honigstein, the short of it stated that a deal to take Edin Dzeko to Dortmund is all but done.
I'll list the tweets that were posted on Honigstein's twitter feed from around 11am BST:
forgot to tweet some gossip from Manchester: Edin Dzeko to Borussia Dortmund is "all but done", I was told. #BVB— raphael honigstein (@honigstein) March 7, 2013
I don't think anybody would be surprised that Man City would be open to the possibility that Dzeko would be sold, and Dortmund has long been mooted as a possible destination.

one word of caution: Dzeko to Bayern was also almost done last year, before too many agents asked for too much commission— raphael honigstein (@honigstein) March 7, 2013
Well well, so a deal was nearly concluded with Bayern last summer. The issue I have with the last tweet, if it's true, is that Man City must have been far from satisfied with their striking corps as long ago as last summer.
This begs the question: If Dzeko was to be sold, and certain members of the heirarchy along with Mancini had doubts about Balotelli, who were to be their striking replacements? RvP was off the market and always headed to Man United, so we are left with the usual rumoured targets. My guess would have been a huge pitch for Cavani.
Any thoughts on this Dzeko rumour? True/false, happy/sad?
Dzeko at his brutal best
